Antiqued sounds like a pretty cool nail polish design but I regret and am simultaneously delighted to tell you it’s not! The only reason I regret it is because antiqued nail art sounds AWESOME!. But seriously, I have some a throwback polish for you today from the world renowned surrealist Salvador Dali.

I really wish I could tell you I have the pleasure of owning such a rare treasure, however, all I have is a brochure of the entire make up line he once offered in the 80′s.

I’m sure the contents would be useless if I was lucky enough to come across any of these products, but I would die to own one of them. The packaging is SO cute! The only bottle I’ve managed to find on sale on the internet retails for $499.95 on eBay and is advertised as a collectors item. I’m SO not in the market to shell out that type of bread for nail polish, but even if I was, I think the seller my be a little delusional on the price, it’s been up for sale for at least 2 months (that’s when I first thought to post this #procrastinator). I’m not going to give up, maybe I’ll come across it at an Estate Sale or Thrift store and it’ll be in the $2 bin… hey a girl can dream.
Anyway, I was initially planning an old school song to accompany this, but I’m really feeling this new song by Kelly Rowland. The video is a little (a lot) scandalous and she could have used this as an opportunity to be more creative visually. When I first heard that this song was being released, I read it was for a campaign that her and Janette Jenkins “The Celebrity Trainer” were launching to help get people motivated to workout. Weeellll…. this isn’t the type of workout I envisioned; it actually would have been cute if she depicted herself as a trainer and veered away from the (over)sex(ed) kitten image that we are inundated with way too often these days. IMHO, she definitely stayed in the box with this video. Anyway thanks for sticking around for that rant, I’ll try to keep it all about the polish next time.
BTW, since they are always being compared, this is WAY better than Bey’s new joint.
