In the latest issue of InStyle (Jan 2011) all the rave is about a 2 tone manicure. See Vena Cava. So I channeled my inner Nicki for this one. In almost every picture I’ve ever seen of Nicki Minaj she’s rockin’ either a pink or gold manicure.
I decided to pair the 2 in a ruffian kinda way. Obviously Nicki Minaj’s gold is achieved by using Minx, which I don’t have. So for the bottom layer I used the next best thing, China Glaze 2030. CG 2030 gives you the best mirror like shine you can get from a polish alone. For the top layer I tried to find the best girlie pink in my stash. I came up with Nubar Hot Fucshia, it’s about 2 bar’s shy of being eye searing, at the same time it’s 100% Nicki.
So What do do you think? Did I nail it (pun intended)?
But wait… I’m not finished, in an effort to make sure this was all the way Nicki I checked out her site and got inspired by the body art in her latest spread in V mag.
