Today’s To-Die-For Hue?!?

Last week or so Rachel Zoe, via The Zoe Report,  introduced me to a new line of nail polish, BY TERRY Nail Laque.  As soon as I read her post, I immediately went to the site to find out more about the brand, but unfortunately I couldn’t get any useful information.   Don’t get me wrong, the site has plenty of it, unfortunately for me it’s written in French (I think) and my French is limited to “Oui, oui!’.  Anyhoo, RZ praised this brand and labeled one of the six colors in the new line, Vintage Coral, as “today’s to-die-for hue”

This is the picture RZ posted, I believe it’s Vintage Coral, but I’m not 100%.  This polish is $30! Soooo, unless it’s gifted to me I won’t be swatchin’ it for y’all.  However, I do live in a “Parallel Universe” so I have for you RZ’s next best thing, which is, ESSIE Peach Daiquiri.

Essie described Peach Daiquiri as a peachy, mouth-watering, cocktail, but it actually leans more towards  a strawberry’n a lil cream daiquiri if you ask me.  Seriously though, there is nothing new about this color.  This is part of Essie’s standard collection so you can purchase it almost anywhere now that Essie has gone major retail.   Unlike Rachel Zoe, I wouldn’t call this “today‘s to-die-for hue”, however it is a beautiful color and looks great on multiple skin-tones; from light to dark.  There are SO many options for a hue like this, you won’t have a problem finding a similar shade, if not a dead on dupe, from almost any brand.

Don’t believe me?  Just check out these options from OPI.

From left to right we have ESSIE Peach Daiquiri, OPI Cajun Shrimp, OPI on Collins Ave, Tasmanian Devil Made Me Do It, and  Modern Girl. You might think that’s a lot, but it merely scratches the surface of OPI‘s coral options.  The lighting makes the colors appear a little more orange than Peach Daiquiri, but they actually aren’t.

CandyPaint didn’t stop there, I swatched a few more options from Essie for you. These are a little lighter and peachier, but still on point.

L to R Vermillionaire, Peach Daiquiri, Carousel Coral, & Haute as Hello

I know Essie Vermillionaire is orange but I thought I’d add it in since orange is such a HOT color right now for your lips.  Lips and nails don’t have to match, but life is a lot more fun if they do.   Don’t get used to it, but I do have a matching lip option today.  I usually don’t jump on the trend band wagon, but I LOVE this one, so I’m rollin’ with it.

This is Revlon Siren.  I choose Revlon because it’s relatively inexpensive.  PLUS, this week at Ulta Revlon, amongst a few other brands, are buy 1 get 1 50% off.   Since trends are total commitment phobes, I wouldn’t recommend spending too much $$$ for something that, mostly likely, will walk right out of your life.

TRUE STORY:  At almost the very same moment I started this post, I simultaneously received a text from one of  my friends showing off her creamy coats of…you guessed it, PEACH DAIQUIRI!!!  Freaky right? Either we’re great minds or she reads The Zoe Report too!  I’m going with the first option regardless.

So are you feeling Peach Daiquiri?  Do you think it’s “today‘s to-die-for hue”? Are you #teampeachie or #teamcoral or neither? Do my lips look sexy?  LOL, just kidding with that last statement.  But for realz, TALK 2 MAEEEEE!!! (said just like Lil Bankhead from ATL’s V103) Leave a comment and weigh in…

You know it! I remember you were talking about Peach Daiquiri being your fav color last summer. RZ is so 2000-n-late on this one.

I like the lipstick it looks good on you, I couldn’t pull it off I’m often scared to wear red. I purchased that carousel coral last week. I love coral’s that are done right. I’m vouching for Essie’s polish these days it really holds well.
